About IJsfontein
IJsfontein is a specialist in interactive communication and media productions. Among the clients of the Amsterdam based company are broadcasting companies, museums, (consumer) brands and non-governmental organisations. A lot of IJsfontein's media have children as the main users, such as their BAFTA-winning game 'Master of the Elements', 'Game Studio' (for the popular children's program Het Klokhuis on NPS) and the innovative 'Blue World', which was created for Postbank/ING.
Through the years IJsfontein won numerous awards and nominations. Both national (Spin Award, Cinekid New Media Award) as international (Prix Jeunesse, Japan Prize).
IJsfontein has thirty people working for the company, ranging from concept directors to designers and from programmers to marketeers.
The games, interactive exhibits and innovative web-tools are used, played and enjoyed in Holland and abroad.

What makes a game a good game? Children can learn about game-play, game rules and mechanics by making their very own game. The Game Studio is an easy tool and free environment where children can experiment with games. Dutch NPS show Klokhuis uses the Game Studio to enrich their television program with the input of children.

Sketchstudio
Extend the content and value of your TV show by letting your audience create their own content with you r characters, props and other program-related artefacts. Dutch NPS childrens program Klokhuis did this very succesfully with the Sketchmixer and SketchMaker. Close to 1.000.000 sketches were created and spread among friends or creaters via e-mail.

Who dunnit?
To use the power of digital media, the television program Who dunnit? switches from one episode online to one episode on television. To find the person who commited the murder, children watch the series for information and clues, which they can use in the game online. Children learn about biology and DNA. IJsfontein produced Who dunnit? for Dutch public, educational childrens television
station TeleacNOT.

Cinekid Studio
Media, how do its mechanisms work? How can you produce media? How do you manipulate and entertain media? The Cinekid Studio gives children the means to produce, publicate and share media. The possibilities of the Cinekid Studio are diverse; you can draw, make collages and animations, record and mix sound, photos and video via a webcam, stop-motion, timelapse recordings and a final edit. Children produce and work together with this eay-to-use tool.

Pluk van de Petteflet Game
Step into the shoes of the famous Dutch character Pluk and play with his friends from the famous Dutch movie Pluk van de Petteflet. Children from 3 to 7 learn how to count, sing, write letters and draw. Lots of famous Dutch actors cooperate to let the movie characters come alive. The cd-rom is very successful and has sold 50.000 copies. The Pluk game is now available for Nintendo DS.

Tattletoons
The interactive television series Tattletoons lets children decide how a new episode should start. Children can make their own web-episode and professional animators develop the best idea. Every character has its personal web page and its own adventures. Childen decide which character is the most popular. Tattletoons is a total crossover of television and the web.
